It’s that time of year again!
On 2 October 2019, the Ministry of Finance announced that 930,000 eligible Singaporean households will receive a Utilities Rebate under the GST Voucher Scheme. This scheme, under the tagline “Providing support to Singaporeans” was first introduced in Budget 2012 to help alleviate household expenses such as monthly utility bills (electricity, water, gas, etc.).
How much is the rebate per HDB household?
Depending on your flat type, households will receive up to $100 in the form of Utilities-Save or better known as U-Save. In a year, each household gets a total combined rebate amount of up to $380.

How will it be credited to my account?
If you’re wondering if a sign-up is required to receive the GST Voucher, it’s not. Instead, the payment will be instantly credited to your utilities account upon account opening. However, to ensure you’ll receive your GST voucher notification via SMS (and not the alternative, which is in the form of a mailed notice) be sure to embrace our current digital age by registering your mobile number in your SingPass account stat.
