What happens when family and work-life collide? What if you can bring your kids to your office, not just once, but unlimited times in a year?
In support of Families for Life Council’s Annual My Family Weekend Celebration 2019, a nationwide initiative that embraces family-friendly workplace initiatives and fostering strong family ties, we organised a Bring-Your-Family-to-Work Day (BYFTWD). It was a chance for our hard-working team members and their families to let loose and enjoy spending quality time at the office. To help mark the occasion and take a walk down memory lane, we’ve put together the exciting line-up of the day’s festivities that were a hit with adults and kids alike.
We kicked things off with a face painting session for the little ones by our multi-talented senior graphic artist! The kids get to unleash their imagination by picking any design they want. Bunnies, tigers, Spiderman and Wonder Woman were soon spotted among the party guests.
The festivities kicked things up a notch with a slew of fun, child-friendly party games that got both the young and the young at heart in on the fun. Classic party games such as Musical Chairs, Paper Dance and Limbo were a hit with the crowd who were aiming for the top prize – a GV movie card for 2!
Buffet plus pizza
After a rousing few rounds of exhilarating party games, our families get to dig into a delicious spread of Indonesian food and pizza – fusion at its finest. The break also allowed the kids to interact and play with one another after the brief jitters have faded away.
What’s more fun than singing your heart out to some catchy tunes? Fun fact: our seminar chamber also doubles as a karaoke lounge – after we plug in our touch screen karaoke system, that is! Requests kept streaming in, with favourites being Post Malone’s Sunflower and Let It Go from the Disney hit film, Frozen.
To wind down from a fun-filled day, our families kicked back to a screening of Iron Man 2. A treat for the grown-ups (Robert Downey Jr) and the kids (Iron Man!), it was the perfect closing activity to end the event. After the credits rolled, we bid goodbye to the families who joined us with goodie bags for all the kids who came down and made our event such a memorable one!
On 22nd August 2019, we shared about Ohmyhome’s family-friendly values at the Families for Life Council’s Employer Networking Seminar held at the Enabling Village.
Fun aside, My Family Weekend 2019 was a warm reminder that families are truly the heart of every home. No matter where we are when we’re with our family, we feel at ease much like being in the comfort of our own home. Above all, we treasure family values and regard our fellow colleagues as our second family who we love working with every day.
