Circuit Breaker Measures Updates and Mandatory Mask-Wearing

Keep in mind that strict enforcement will continue against those who flout the rules imposed last 7 April to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Individuals who will flout the safe distancing measures will have these penalties:

• $300 for the first offence
• $1,000 for the second offence
• Serious or repetitive cases will be prosecuted in court

Offences by essential service providers, business owners or occupiers will have these penalties:

• $1,000 on the first offence
• Repeat offenders will face higher fines
• Serious or repetitive cases will be prosecuted in court

Mandatory Wearing of Mask

As of 14 April 2020, the Multi-Ministry Taskforce has updated its guidance on wearing masks based on the latest scientific advice. Now, it is mandatory for all persons to wear a mask when leaving their homes.

• Mask-wearing is not recommended for young children below the age of two for safety reasons.
• First-time offenders will have a penalty of $300
• Repeat offenders will face higher fines
• Serious or repetitive cases will be prosecuted in court

Planning to exercise within your neighbourhood park? You may remove your mask while engaging in strenuous exercise outdoors (e.g. running/ jogging), but take note that you must put it back on after completing your exercise. You can also stay physically fit indoors with these workout tips.
