Are you working in essentials services and still need to commute to your workplace? Expect new public transportation schedules due to the effects of COVID-19.
Since public transport ridership and traffic volume dropped by over 70% after the circuit breaker measures, buses will run at longer intervals starting 15 April. Selected bus services serving the Central Business District and recreational places will be suspended, as the trips to these destinations have seen a drastic reduction in demand.
The train service schedule will also be adjusted starting 17 April.
- The normal train interval is three to five minutes on the North-South, East-West, North-East, Circle and Downtown lines. However, this will increase to five minutes during peak periods and about 10 minutes during off-peak periods.
- The Thomson-East Coast Line will continue to operate at intervals of around seven minutes during peak periods and 12 minutes during off-peak periods, operating between 6.30 am and 8 pm.
- The Sengkang-Punggol LRT will run a single loop service during off-peak periods and end service around 30 minutes earlier, just past midnight.
Good news for those staying in the Bukit Panjang area! There’ll be no changes to the Bukit Panjang LRT’s current service interval.
If you are thinking of buying, selling, or renting property while the circuit breaker measures are in effect, don’t worry! Our team is still hard at work.
