It’s not a late April Fool’s prank, HDB homeowners! The Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced on Tuesday that about 930,000 HDB households will get the next instalment of the GST voucher this month. If you’re eligible, you can look forward to a U-Save instalment of up to $100, as the amount disbursed will depend entirely on your flat type.

As part of the U-Save rebates component under the GST voucher scheme, U-Save rebates are meant to provide a helping hand for households to cover their monthly expenses particularly the utility bills and/or other household expenses. The Ministry said that U-Save is equivalent to 3-4 months worth of utility bills for 1- and 2- room households and about 1-2 months of utility bills for 3- and 4- room households.
According to MOF, the total amount of U-Save rebates set aside for eligible Singaporeans in 2019 alone amounts to $300 million.
