Property News: 3,095 BTO Flats Launched in Toa Payoh and Sembawang

On 11 February 2020, HDB launched 3,095 flats in Sembawang and Toa Payoh for sale under the February 2020 Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise.

Flats for Different Buyers

Flats range from two-room Flexi to three-generation (3Gen) flats. Buyers who are first-timers, second-timer families, multi-generation families, elderly and singles will be able to find a flat that’s perfect for their needs from this BTO launch.

Two-room Flexi flats at Kim Keat Ripples and Toa Payoh Ridge are on short leases (between 15 and 45 years), exclusive to those who are 55 and above only. Those at Toa Payoh Ridge have flexible space, where seniors may opt for the Optional Component Scheme which provides senior-friendly fittings and spaces. Similarly, three-room flats at Canberra Vista and Toa Payoh Ridge have integrated kitchen/utility space with flexible interior layouts, so homeowners can get creative with their home renovation!

Subsidised Flats

Subsidies for new HDB flats are priced according to factors such as location, flat attributes, and prevailing market conditions, resulting in lower prices as compared to the resale flats in the area. As for two-room Flexi flats, prices are dependent on the lease chosen. Enhanced CPF Housing Grant (EHG) of up to $80,000 is applicable to eligible first-timer families. With the EHG, eligible flat buyers could pay as little as $9,000 for a two-room Flexi flat or $305,000 for a five-room flat.

Upcoming BTO Launch in May 2020 and Aug 2020

In May 2020, 3,700 flats in Choa Chu Kang, Pasir Ris, Tampines, and Tengah will be launched. While in August 2020, there will be 4,100 flats in Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Geylang, Tampines, and Woodlands. For those who dread the long wait, you’ll be pleased to know that the upcoming BTO launch in Choa Chu Kang (May 2020) and Tampines (August 2020) will have a shorter waiting period.
