SINGAPORE, 23 March 2017 | Rhonda Wong, co-founder and CEO of Ohmyhome, received the Women Icons Award for her entrepreneurial spirit and efforts to add value to the HDB market. By starting Ohmyhome, Rhonda Wong wanted to offer home owners, home seekers, tenants and landlords opportunities to take control of their housing decisions via its real estate platform and licensed real estate agency. Early this year, Ohmyhome set a new record for Do-It-Yourself property transactions when an HDB seller successfully secured a buyer just two days after listing. In another instance, a home owner saved over S$19,000 in commission through Ohmyhome’s flat fee full agent service.
Rhonda Wong was one of the 25 Women Icons recipients at the inaugural Women Icons Summit & Awards. Held on Friday, 17 March 2017, the summit honoured women achievers from South and South-East Asia for their accomplishments and contributions. The women excelled in different spheres of life, and in various industries across the region.
An initiative by Singapore-headquartered Business Excellence & Research Group (BERG), the Women Icons Summit & Awards had Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore as the Knowledge partner along with supporting partners.
Commenting on the award, Rhonda said, “It is a great honour to be recognized as one of the Women Icons in the region, and I am immensely thankful for the acknowledgement. At Ohmyhome, we are committed to let users buy, sell or rent HDB flats in a hassle-free manner, and the award is a wonderful encouragement to continue taking the next steps to further improve the platform.”
Vishwesh Iyer, Managing Partner & Director, BERG Singapore said, “The Women Icons Summit & Awards is part of an initiative to hold an ongoing dialogue with women achievers in the region, and the response was very encouraging. Women leaders from diverse sectors such as healthcare, marketing and communications, IT, startups, education and HR shared experiences at this global stage, representing India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.”
