Strike As One Family Day 2019: Celebrating Family, Giving, and Community Through Bowling!

Strap on your bowling shoes, it’s time to knock down some pins!

On 12 September 2019, families supported by TOUCH Family Services were treated to an afternoon of fun at the Kallang Bowl for Ohmyhome’s Strike As One Family Day 2019. Organised by TOUCH and sponsored by Ohmyhome, it was a heartwarming event that celebrates family togetherness and community bonding.

Bowling and a delicious family feast

Bowling may be commonplace, yet for families from low-income backgrounds, it’s extraordinary. Play promotes an overall sense of well-being and through this conscious effort to provide an opportunity for them to have fun and interact with each other, it helps to improve the quality of their relationship-as well as their connection with one another. This achieves TOUCH’s and Ohmyhome’s shared passion for building strong marriages and family unity.

From 3 pm to 7 pm, the charity event hosted a total of 80 people who came down to hit the lanes with their families. Our CEO Rhonda Wong and COO Race Wong also joined in on the fun! A few rounds of bowling definitely worked up an appetite and the celebration continued at a nice restaurant where the families dined together for a well-deserved feast.

Family and community values

Beyond the adrenaline rush that comes after spending hours bowling with some friendly competition, the event was also a meaningful way to celebrate the importance of family togetherness and community bonding – two values we cherish here at Ohmyhome as we understand that families are what makes a house a home.

At Ohmyhome, to foster a family-friendly culture, our office has child-friendly rooms where our team is welcome to bring their kids with them to work. On 6 September 2019, we celebrated our annual Family Day during which our team members brought along their families to the office for a day of fun games, karaoke, and adorable face painting for the little ones!
