Time flies by in a blink of an eye, and just like that we’re well into the June holidays with only a few weeks left before the kids go back to school. Parents, are you running out of things to do? We know how it’s like when you’re eager to make the most out of their free time before they’re swept up by a tight schedule filled with classes and homework. Instead of making things up on the fly, we’ve compiled a list of exciting events to experience June holidays to its fullest.

1. Wonderland at the ArtScience Museum

Immerse yourself in the wonderfully magical world of Alice in Wonderland. Explore your creative side with this very hands-on exhibition that displays over 300 cultural artifacts. A mish-mash of science, literature, roleplay, and art, this fascinating workshop invites participants to embrace their curiosity and explore the classic scenarios in the Wonderland books in order to create their own storybook ending.

How to get there: Take the train on Circle Line and Downtown Line and stop at Bayfront Station.

2. Spiderman Far from Home Exhibition

With great fun comes great responsibility. Treat the Marvel fans in your brood to a real-life reenactment of their wildest Spiderman fantasies through a heart-pumping Spiderman adventure playground filled with spider webs, suspension bridges, and even a zip line! If that doesn’t tingle your spidey senses, there’s also a real-life meet-and-greet with the Avenger himself. Be prepared to take lots of Instagram-worthy photos!

Event details: Changi Airport T3, 31th May to 14th July 2019, opening hours: Daily, 10am to 11pm

How to get there: You can either visit the Europe Exhibition at Terminal 3, Departure Hall, Level 2 (in front of Central Immigration), or the Trick Eye Exhibition at Terminal 3, Basement 2 (opposite Kopitiam).

3. Children’s Festival 2019

Those who have laughed, cheered and shed an occasional tear from watching Pixar’s Toy Story films would wholeheartedly understand the franchise’s universal appeal. Toy Story is also the theme for this year’s Children’s Festival. Kids of all ages can look forward to all sorts of games and activities that tie into the wildly successful franchise, with rides that include self-driving cars and even an adventure course that will put their speed and agility to the test.

Event details: Gardens by the Bay, Supertree Grove, 15th – 30th June 2019, opening hours: 10am-9pm

How to get there: Take the train on the Circle or Downtown line and alight at Bayfront MRT Station. Take Exit B and follow the underground linkway. Exit and cross the Dragonfly Bridge or Meadow Bridge into Gardens by the Bay.

4. Kidz & Zoology

Have a family of animal lovers? Here’s an event that will surely tickle their fancy. Drop down to Kidzania for the June holiday special Kidz & Zoology event that promises wildlife-inspired fun while educating both kids and grown-ups on our little red dot’s wildlife welfare issues from ACRES. Kids can also live out their day as a zookeeper, meet some wild, furry friends up close and take a safari-themed ride to go from point A to point B within the city.

How to get there: Take bus to Vivocity, and then the train from Sentosa Station to Beach Station.

5. Pokémon Carnival

When it comes to showing the little ones an awesome time, you can’t go wrong with anything Pok√©mon. Take a trip down to Sentosa Cove for a day filled with exciting adventure and fun carnival games at the biggest Pok√©mon carnival to date. On top of that, be sure to stick around to catch a special guest appearance from a whopping 403 adorable Pok√©mons before ending the day on a high note with the Pikachu Night Parade.

6. The Singapore Bicentennial

Ever wanted to travel back in time? Thanks to the Bicentennial Experience, you can. With the help of strobe lights, immersive projections, and sound effects, you and the kids will take a trip back to yesteryear and experience important moments in our nation’s 700-year evolution such as the arrival of the British and the Japanese occupation.

Event details: Fort Canning Centre, 1st June – 15th September 2019, Time Traveller opening hours: 8.30am – 5.30pm (Monday), 8.30am – 10.00pm (Tuesday – Sunday), Pathfinder opening hours: 8.30am – 6.00pm (Monday), 8.30am – 10.30pm (Tuesday – Sunday)

How to get there: Alight at Fort Canning Station. From Exit B, it’s an 8-minute walk from there. Be sure to turn right to Fort Canning Park and take the escalator up Fort Canning Hill.

7. Children’s Biennale 2019

Unleash their artistic side by letting them experience the ever-whimsical Children’s Biennale at National Gallery Singapore where the children can wander and play with 11 out-of-this-world artwork installations that are far from the norm. Besides installations, the event also boasts a packed itinerary which includes performances, workshops and much more.

Event details: National Gallery, 25th May – 29th December 2019, Gallery Children’s Biennale 2019: Embracing Wonder, opening hours: 10.00am – 7.00pm (Saturday – Thursday), 10.00am – 9.00pm (Friday)

How to get there: Alight at City Hall Station. From Exit B, it’s a 7-minute walk from there via the Art Connector.
