Sembawang is a non-mature estate located in the North Region of Singapore. It is part of District 27, categorised under Outside Central Region (OCR). There are two MRT stations in Sembawang: Sembawang MRT Station and Canberra MRT Station. Both stations are on the North-South Line (NSL).

Upcoming road improvement – The 21.5km North-South Corridor (NSC) expected to be completed in 2026, will better connect the Northern and Central parts of Singapore. Travelling is easier between the city centre and towns including Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan and Toa Payoh (shorter traveling time!). You can also get to the coastal Sembawang Park by a short 1.6km park connector. Feeling adventurous? Cycle a little further to other parks such as Woodlands Waterfront Promenade.
Future Developments:
One of the main highlights is Bukit Canberra, which is a one-stop destination for residents of all ages. It includes facilities such as an indoor sports hall, a hawker centre, polyclinic,senior care centre, therapeutic garden, and community farm and fruit orchard.
3. Healthcare, Education and Employment
If you need any healthcare assistance, the nearest hospital is Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (11-minute drive) managed by Alexandra Health and Yishun Community Hospital. Khoo Teck Puat Hospital is a general acute care hospital while Yishun Community Hospital focuses on sub-acute, rehabilitative, dementia and palliative care.
Rest assured, parents you don’t have to fret about your children’s education matters. Local schools found in the estate are Canberra Primary School, Canberra Secondary School, Sembawang Primary School, Sembawang Secondary School, Endeavour Primary School, Wellington Primary School and Northoaks Primary School.
Future Developments:
New industrial area – JTC Food Hub @ Senoko, a seven-storey hub, will cluster SMEs from the food sector, supporting innovation in Singapore’s food industry and at the same time providing local job opportunities.
