Ohmyhome

There are plenty of locations to choose from when you decide to buy a property here in Klang Valley. Why not consider Puchong as your destination of choice, seeing that it has established itself as the prime area for middle-class households?

Here are some of the reasons why Puchong is the right place for you!

1. Astounding location

By virtue of location alone, Puchong is hands down the best place for you if you frequent the following places:

  • Petaling Jaya
  • Kuala Lumpur
  • Putrajaya
  • Cyberjaya

By simply opening google maps, you will find that Puchong is located smack dab in the centre of all these major districts. And this would explain the major traffic in and out of this area during rush hour.

The major expressways in and out of Puchong include the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) which connects the city to the north, namely Petaling Jaya. The Shah Alam Expressway also cuts through Puchong, connecting it to Port Klang, Shah Alam, Subang Jaya and Sri Petaling.

And of course, there is the Putrajaya Link, which connects between Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. But for those who fancy public transport, you will be glad to know that under the LRT Extension Project (LEP), the Sri Petaling Line is now extended into Puchong constituency with the addition of nine new stations.

The Putra heights station is one out of the two only interchange stations connecting the Sri Petaling line and Kelana Jaya line, allowing residents in Puchong and Subang Jaya to travel to Kuala Lumpur city centre, Petaling Jaya, Ampang, Wangsa Maju and even Gombak while avoiding traffic congestion.

Puchong is home to Foo Hing Dim Sum, which attracts any Dim Sum lovers all over the city. Their most iconic egg tarts leave people wanting more, and you would be hard-pressed to find an empty spot in the entire restaurant.

Puchong is also home to, arguably, Klang Valley’s best nasi kandar- Kok Siong Nasi Kandar, where people both inside and outside of Puchong will happily wait in long queues just to get a taste of their menu.

Amongst the top-secret gems of Puchong include Warung Cikgu, located deep inside Puchong. However, it is definitely worth the long drive just to grab a bite of their famous Nasi Mmanggey, which costs only RM5.20 the last time we’ve checked. Talk about being affordable!

4. Bright outlook

Property experts believe that Puchong has excellent prospects in the near future, mainly thanks to the LRT extension.

Experts cite that Puchong has traditionally been a middle-class area, and ever since the completion of the LDP in the late 1990s, Puchong has met with many more infrastructure projects in and out of the town, improving accessibility.

“There are still some undeveloped parcels of land behind IOI Mall Puchong and a few other pockets of land,” says Raine & Horne International Zaki + Partners Sdn Bhd associate director James Tan, hinting at potential future developments.

Tan says that the Sungai Besi station in the upcoming MRT2 development will be linked to the Sri Petaling LRT line, which will have a positive impact on the area as it will cut travelling time and further enhance accessibility.

Experts believe the existing LRT has helped to keep property prices stable, particularly those close to the stations, citing that Puchong’s outlook is expected to remain stable and healthy.

Amidst the current property market and house prices, buyers may be cautious of where they would like to buy their property, especially for first-time homebuyers. But so far, Puchong has established itself as an attractive choice, not just for your own-stay but also for a fruitful investment destination of choice.
